NEW CASTLE, Del.–New Castle County School Employees FCU has announced a change in its trade name.
During its 65th Annual Dinner Meeting, the $45-million credit union announced it will operate as edU FCU. Legally, it will remain New Castle County School Employees FCU.
The new trade name follows a contest open to high school students in New Castle County, Del., that offered the opportunity to submit a new logo showcasing education. The credit union said more than 200 entries were received and reviewed by the board, and the winning selection was submitted by senior Sydney Hopkins of Appoquinimink High School.
In a statement on its website the credit union said, “We’ve used NCCSEFCU as an abbreviated name for our credit union, but that does not tell the story of who we are or what our field of membership is. We are making a slight change by creating a trade name for ourselves.”
The CU has 10,600 members.
